TEHAMA COUNTRY is the gateway to famous Lassen Volcanic National Park, one of the few active volcanos on the United States mainland, as well as to the Yolla Bolly Mountains, and the Middle Eel and Ishi Wilderness Areas. Historic Landmarks and Places of Interest

Gaumer's Mineral Museum: Here you will find Gems, minerals, fossils, Native American carvings, and a mining exhibit make this a fun and educational place to visit.

Kelly-Griggs House Museum: Come and enjoy a trip into the past while you walk through this classic Victorian home decorated with pioneer, early Chinese, and Native American artifacts, as well as artwork, furniture, and clothing.

Sacramento River Discovery Center: This property features interactive interpretive displays, plant garden, old-growth riparian forest, campground, picnic areas, and more.

Salmon Viewing Plaza: Watch the salmon from the viewing station as they make their way up the river to spawn. The best time to view is May 15th through September 15th.

Tehama County Museum: For over a century, this building was Tehama county's first Masonic Lodge, and was also home to the first school until the late 1800's. Here you will find exhibits featuring memorabilia from the cattle and lumber industry, as well as Chinese cultural artifacts. Also featured in this museum are period artifacts and antique furniture.
