Osage is a city in Mitchell County, Iowa, United States. The population was 3,451 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Mitchell County.Osage is located at 43.284618, -92.812129. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.4 km² (2.1 mi²), all land.
Spring Park located 1 1/2 miles west of Osage is used for hiking & camping with shelters, restrooms, playground, and picnic area.
The artsesian well-spring has been flowing for many years with the first cylinder tube being installed in 1890. Many come to drink this refreshing cold water or to “make a wish.”
In the city the population was spread out with 22.5% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 23.1% from 25 to 44, 19.0% from 45 to 64, and 28.7% who were 65 years of age or older.
